Started in 2018, Rhino Quarries is a family-owned quarry whose main objective is to supply high quality crushed silica sand to the local construction industry for the manufacturing of concrete tiles at an affordable price. Over the last three years the rooftiles produced by our partner Rooftile West Rand CC have consistently come out stronger and more durable than traditional tiles. As a result, we tested our quarry output to find and understand what role our resources had in the quality of construction materials. The lab results proved that our quarry resources are of the highest quality, with our silica sand proving to be 94%-99.8% silica.

Rhino Quarries (PTY) LTD is an open cast mine in Randfontein, South Africa that produces crushed silica sand and stone for the construction industry. The quarry was established in 2003 and taken over by Rhino Quarries in 2018. It is estimated to be able to provide 52 million tons of resource at a tested depth of 30m, guaranteeing a reliable supply of high-quality resources for many years. The quarry is 270 hectares. The output at the quarry at the quarry has been tested to understand the makeup of the resources. The silica sand has been tested to be 94% – 99.8% silica (SiO2).
